BRC 120 - Sniper's Mosman Foxhole - 17th April 2026

I hope you all had a great ANZAC weekend and enjoyed the wonderful NRL football that the teams are playing ( well some)

I would like to thank Rick and Robyn for hosting the event on the 17th of April. As usual a very good variety of food beautifully blended with the Greek delicacies provided by Maverick. I enjoyed the wonderful Mosman view from the veranda. Hopefully, we can enjoy the unhindered views for many years to come.

Rok shared that a few weeks back he became a grandfather with the birth of Fin, proudly showed his photos of his grandson.

The results were declared at the end of the evening, and I have attached the official Competition table for 2026 after 2 games.

For the evening, Maverick won the event and had a good run of luck. A very close 2nd Banker, third Professor , 4th Punter , 5th Big bluff, 6th the ROK, 7th Develop, followed by TC Jagger and Sniper at the rear

On equal First on 18 points Professor and Maverick.
3rd Punter on 16 points
The rest of us bunched up between 8, 9, 10 and 11 points.,
It appears that the next BRC meeting is set for 3rd of July at a location to be finalised. Unfortunately I am unable to host and will need to swamp with another member.

BRC 119 - THE ROK'S TEMPLE OF DOOM -13TH FEBRUARY 2026

Dear Members
I hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day, whether with a friend, partner, family or a Trip to Auckland on a Qantas Flight to use the first-class lounge.

I would like to thank Rok and Gayle for hosting the event last Friday the 13th of Feb (or Black Friday). As usual a very good variety of food beautifully blended with the Greek delicacies provided by Maverick.

Rok shared that in a couple of weeks he will be enjoying the fruits of being a grandfather, and with the grandchild’s name yet to be announced but will start with the letter “F”. We all hope all goes well for the mother and all and that the family have the opportunity to enjoy many more.

The trophies were awarded to 2025 podium finishes with Developer receiving is champion shirt and trophies. Big Bluff will be sharing the photo’

The results were declared at the end of the evening, and I have attached the official Competition table for 2026 for Game 1/26.

For the evening, Professor won the event and obviously was not impacted by the Friday the 13th curse. So lucky that in one hand 2 people had straight flushes of the same suit. With Professor holding 3 clubs whereas TC Jagger only 2 clubs. Between the 2 they held all remaining clubs with other 4 clubs on the table. The chances of that happening would be extremely rare with 9 players. We need to get the Banker to determine the odds. I would not be surprised that it would 1 in million.

Some other memorable events took place during the evening, including BB introducing the surprise blind wild card ie at his discretion without others knowing when the wild is to be turned. The members quickly objected and advised to not disadvantage other members and dealers now requested to declare upfront when they plan to turn the wild card.

BRC 118 - DEVELOPER'S PALAZZO RIVERVIEW 5TH DECEMBER 2025

Hi all, my sincere apologies for the delayed announcement of the results for the 2025 following the last game of the year at Developer’s palazzo. Delay was unavoidable due to the many activities just prior to the Christmas shutdown.

Many thanks to Developer and Sonia for hosting and preparing a lovely feast for the evening, well up to usual high standard.

A vote was also requested by BB to change the rules regarding the hierarchy of flushing and how count backs were to do be made. After much debate a consensus was reached and that the motion was defeated as the existing rules were adequate as they are, to continue without change. The count backs were to be made on the whole hand not what was in just “in hand”.

The results were declared at the end of the evening, and I have attached the updated and the official final Competition table for 2025.

For the evening, BigBluff for the first time for this season won the evening. This was enough to pull him off the bottom of the table. Developer was able to avoid a potential count back by coming in 3rd for the evening. As a result, and with the help of the absence of Rok was declared Champion for 2025.
Punter 2nd for the evening was enough to push him ahead of TC Jagger and be awarded Runner up for 2025. The 3rd place was awarded to TC Jagger.

2nd Punter on 44 points a full 6 points behind.
3rd TC Jagger on 39 Points, 5 points behind.

BRC 118 MAVERICK'S HANGAR 57 17TH OCTOBER 2025

Hi all

Many thanks to Maverick and Mary for preparing a lovely feast for the evening. Plenty of food and drinks followed by coffee and tea with a touch of sweets.

The numbers are now in, and the Competition table has been updated.

For the evening, Developer, not as handsomely this time but has for the 3rd time in a row won, equally the previous record held by BB. The difference I believe, this is the first time it has occurred in the same season. Sniper. was just short by 2000 chips, but came in 2nd, followed by TC Jagger for 3rd and only doing so by winning the last hand of the evening with 5 jacks (holding pocket jacks).
The 3rd win in a row by Developer has catapulted him further in the lead on 43 points, 7 points ahead of 2nd place. TC Jagger with his 3rd placing has pushed him ahead of Punter at 36 points, Punter dropped to 3rd place at 35 points with only 1 point behind. While Sniper now in 4th on 28 points and Banker holding to 5th on 28 points. Sniper being the biggest mover going from 6th to 4th position.
It is likely that Developer will retain his lead and be declared the champion for 2025.

Many thanks to BigBluff and Sonya for hosting a fantastic evening. Plenty of food and drinks followed by coffee and tea with a touch of homemade sweets.
The seafood sliders were fantastic. The numbers are now in and the Competition table has been updated
For the evening, Developer won handsomely for the 2nd time in a row. Followed by Rok (finally lifting him from the bottom of the ladder) then TC Jagger and Sniper.
The 2nd win in a row by Developer has catapulted him to the lead on 33 points. Punter has maintained his 2nd position just 4 points behind on 29 points. TC Jagger and Banker holder equal 3rd position on 28 points, just 1 point behind.
The results for the year to date after 4 rounds are summarised in the attached table.

First on 33 points Developer ,
Second Developer on 29rd Points, 4 points behind.
Equal 3rd Position TC Jagger and Banker on 28 points 1 point behind
5th on 23 Points, Maverick

BRC 115 - SNIPER'S MOSMAN FOX HOLE - 18TH JULY 2025

Hi all

Many thanks to Sniper and Robyn for hosting a fantastic evening. Thankfully the promised beef wellington laced with death capped mushrooms was not on the menu. Plenty of food and drinks followed by coffee and tea with a touch of sweets.
The numbers are now in and the Competition table has been update

For the evening, Developer won handsomely with a streak of 4 hands in a row. Followed by Banker ( even after applying the rules) then Maverick and Sniper.
The 9 points gained by Banker has propelled him into first place on 24 points. Punter after 2 perfect rounds and only 3 points for round 2 has dropped into 2nd place. Developer winning the evening has pushed him up in to equal 2nd place.
The results for the year to date after 3 rounds are summarised in the attached table.
First on 24 points Banker ,
On equal second Punter and Developer on 23rd Points, 1 points behind.

It looks like the Champion of 2024 is still stuck at the bottom, can the Rok pull off a recovery like the Panthers and get a podium finish.

BRC 113 - The Developer's Palazzo Riverview 7th March 2025

Firstly, thanks to the Developer for hosting the evening. At least Developer turned up at this own function. For a fleeting moment he thought it was booked at my place!! Soon we will need our partners to organised our events!!!
Good antipasto was enjoyed and great desserts with tea and coffee.
The trophies for 2024 were officially awarded. Rok the Walter Champion Trophy for 2024 ( his very first won after too many to remember bridesmaid trophies). The Damn it trophy 2nd Place was awarded to Punter and the 3rd place Trophy awarded to Professor.
For the evening, the Punter won the evening followed by Banker and then the Professor. Holding 3rd place. A total of $350 was Invested, the highest for some time!.
The results for the first game 1/25 are summarised in the attached table.
A very enjoyable start for 2025 and I look forward to the next game scheduled for May at TC Jagger.

The numbers are in and positions have been final.

Firstly, thanks to the 2024 Champion for hosting the evening. Especially after all the chopping and changing around the dates. The surprise of the evening was that the Developer turned up 2.50 hours into the game. Interesting if Developer had not turned up, Sniper would have finished equal 3rd on the 35 points and a countback would have been required. The result would not have changed the declared result with the Professor still retaining 3rd position.

For the evening, the Banker won the evening followed by Big Bluff and then the Professor. The difference between 1st and 3rd was 600 chips ( 60 cents).

The results for the year 2024 are summarised in the attached table.

First on 52 points The Rok , officially declared as 2024 Champion.
2nd on 40 Points Punter
3rd on 35 points Professor.
Equal 4th on 34 points BB, Sniper and banker
7th on 33 points TC jagger
8th Developer on 31 points
9th Maverick on 29 points.

Only 2 points separated 3rd and 7th position and only 6 points separated 3th to 9th, the closest finish that I can recall.

A very enjoyable year and I look forward to the start of 2025.
