Game 5 for 2023 (Game CVI) was conducted at the Developer’s Palazzo. All were in attendance other than Punter.
Please note the Big Bluff is still planning a final game before Christmas. A date and location to be finalised.
Many thanks for Developer to finally being able to host after several attempts at doing so. The host generously provided the good food and drinks including the fireball Scotch Whisky. The game was filled with the usual jovial banter except for a dummy spit by the host over the issue of luck versus skill of the selected games by the participants. A dummy spilt not seen since the university days between Banker and Maverick. The game did settle down eventually. Rok had to leave early for a planned trip to the Adelaide. As a result clause 21 of the constitution had to be referred too.
At the end and with Rok leaving early the points were determined in accordance with abovementioned clause, with a couple of corrections following the night.
Final positions for the night were as follows, updated table attached.
Rok 10 points moving from 30 to 40 points overall
TC Jagger 9 points moving from 27 points to 36 overall.
Big Bluff 8 points moving from 22 points to 30 overall
Professor 7 points moving from 17 points to 24 overall
Maverick 6 points moving from 34 points to 40 overall
Developer 5 points moving from 20 points to 25 overall
Banker 4 points moving from 26 points to 30 overall
Sniper 3 points moving from 26 points to 29 overall.
With Rok and Maverick on equal points, a count back would apply until a winner is determined if this was/is the final game for the year. Starting with the points allocated for 1st place to third place. This is in accordance clause 6 of the competition rules (refer to Competition page of the website.)
The records shows that Maverick had 1 first place during the year while Rok, had 2 first place positions during the year, 3 points /place. While 2nd place 2 to Maverick nil to Rok (2 points/place). 3rd place nil to both players. Result; Maverick 7 points, Rok 6 points. Maverick by the slimiest of margins.
Accordingly if there are no further games for 2023, and this is subject to what happens before end of the year, then Maverick, may be declared the 2023 Champion and Rok the runner up and third place to TC Jagger. This will be a first for Maverick.
Let’s see what develops.

- The total chip count was over counted by exactly 5000. I determined that the over count was probably from Rok’s chip count. However it made no difference to the points. Rok net chip position was declared at $43, but may have been $38. Even at $38, this still results in a positive position of $19 and still higher than the 2nd highest position of $15.70.
- The net chip position of Bankers was missed calculated as neg $7.10, when in fact should have been neg $27.10. This resulted in 7th position in lieu of the 6th position, swapping position with Developer.
