Notes From The Rok

I wish to thank Rick & Robyn for hosting Friday nights BRC LXX.

It was a very enjoyable night.
I big thank you to Maverick for the Spanakopita & Galatobouriko .
( Delicious as always ).
 Robyn's Strawberry Icecream was magnificent. ( I loved it ! )

There were many highlights of the evening:
* Congratulations to the Punter who easily cleaned up on the night .
Even though he didn't have a clue what he had in hand half the time
Help / Assistance / and Guidance was on hand !
* The Developer introduced a new game which was received well .
One card from each line and choose your own wild in hand
* The Bankers strip Tease : BUT ... You must use all the cards left in your
hand caused chaos.
* Maverick brought out the cards for the visually impaired , much to the annoyance
of the Banker.
Hang on to those Maverick ..... As the years progress , I am sure they will be very useful.
* The Maverick salvaged the night by winning the last 2 pots . This enabled him to regain losses as well as composure.
* The Professor continued his manic dealing with several versions of " Fat snake " , " Blind Snake " , " The Donut " : Who knows what goes on in this evil genius's mind.
* The Sniper was a very polite and gracious host & showed all class by  voluntarily coming last on the night. It is good manners to let your guests win. This did not go unnoticed. Thanks Sniper.
* The BRC Trophies for 2015 season were presented to winners. ( Fortunately there were no speeches from the winners. )
Thank you again & bring on the next gathering.

Notes From Maverick

Thanks Sniper and Robin - great night  - loved the homemade ice cream and general hospitality - even detour directions for road closures was appreciated
Winning the last 2 pots finally helped out preventing serious violence to certain members and their "care free playing nature" when faced with dilemmas of how to use their multiple wild cards in their hands.

Towards that - I would like to throw a real "hand grenade and run" rule concerning a proposed rule change to the ranking of hands.
At present - if you get 5 of a kind you almost certainly win - unless there is a Genuine Royal Flush.
How about bringing some uncertainty into it for these guys with 2-3 wild cards.
Why not make the top 5 rankings as follows:

1. Genuine Royal Flush
2. Genuine Royal Flush WITH ONLY 1 WILD
3. 5 of a Kind
4. Royal Flush with wilds
5. 4 of a kind
Food for thought ........
Cheers,
Mav

Notes From Jagger

Thanks everyone for their input.
My apology for my lateness in my replies as it was a busy weekend and have been travelling. Banker is now included in the emails. Who continues to be left off on the emails and missed all the banter on the hierarchy of winning hands and who will certainly be able to tell us the odds of each winning hand. More about this later.

To add to the comments to date

It was another great night, never short of snacks and food. Well catered. Thanks again to Sniper and Robin Sniper. It seems to me that over the years we look like drinking less? We forgot about the Grappa, left in the reg. I am sure Sniper will bring it to the next round to enjoy.

It was unfortunate that TC Jagger temporarily lost the badges for the perpetual trophies. Searched everywhere to no avail. Sat morning TC Jagger decided to look in the recycle bin, just in case it was thrown out by accident.  Wow, within 5 mins , TC jags it again and finds it inside an empty packet. What luck. Sunday successful handed over the badge to Developer to place on the trophy. Confirming that the perpetual trophies are now up to date with the badges securely placed.

The luck on the night certainly did not go everyone’s way. It was with the Punter.

It was an interesting night, and has highlighted by quite few real straight flushes.

Punter is off to a flying start  by winning the night with a positive 57,000 chips, 47000 clear of 2nd place Developer. The difference between 3rd and last was only 25000 chips. A very tight night. Maverick did well to win the last 2 hands pushing him from last to 7th.

Positions for round 1 /2016

1st Punter on 10 points
2nd Developer on 9 points
3rd Professor on 8 points
4th Banker on 7 points
5th Rok on 6 points
6th BB on 5 points
7th Mav on 4 points
8th TC Jagger on 3 points
9th Sniper on 2 points.

The season is open and it is anyone’s game to win. Will it be the time for the Banker to finally win a trophy?

Competition table to follow shortly.

BTW, the footy season is about to start, the competition will be opened again for all to participate. Please confirm who is interested.

Regards
TC Jagger

Notes From Sniper

Thanks to all for coming to the Lookout and for the fun and good cheer.  Special thanks to those who brought goodies along - in the event there was so much that many of the provisions I bought remained unopened.  In all the chaos I forgot about the grappa - apologies for that.  I still have it and will bring it along next time.

I propose that Mexican Sweat be banned on the basis that it is a rubbish game on a par with Bermuda Triangle.  There is a common factor here - the dealer!

Regards.
