Notes from Sniper:

It was most enjoyable evening at Dam It’s spillway on
Friday night. Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Dam It's for generous hosting of the event with excellent catering, as usual, to sustain the weary but lively members.

A few of the highlights, lowlights and other notable
features of the evening were –

1. Mav was unable to attend and was very much missed, especially due to the lack of galaktoboureko; then again, there wasn’t even galaktoboureko when Mav hosted BRC!  Now I think about it I
suspect we might have only had galaktoboureko once!!

2. TC Jagger was amazingly alert for someone who had flown back from China overnight and arrived back in Sydney that morning.

3. It was a very noisy event, with a huge commotion about the application of “terminator” cards.  GT declared that he was the referee in respect of disputes, but everyone knows that the referee always stuffs up so the noise continued.  At one stage Punter was very grumpy about the racket and seemed to be wondering why he had made the trip to Sydney – it’s quieter at a packed Suncorp Stadium!

4. For while Punter was drinking some terrible looking alco-pop drink, apparently because he was feeling a bit off colour and didn’t feel like drinking beer.  This is a seriously flawed strategy.

5. Wine consumption was relatively low, but the quality was certainly there.  I tried the St Hugo (thanks Punter) and it was excellent.

6. There were no spillages at the Spillway, partly due to the squat anti-spill glasses sensibly provided by Damit.

7. Many of the players were inventing new games and variants.  Some were more successful than others.

8. BB’s “Bermuda Triangle” was both incomprehensible and ridiculous – the dumbest game since Developer’s “all hearts are wild” game of a few years ago that gave rise to a limit on the number of wild cards.  The Bermuda Triangle should never again darken the BRC playing table!

9. Banker nominated a box style game based only on the use of the  diagonal lines – another silly game.

10. Professor invented an Eiffel Tower game that was reasonably successful.

11. The table tilted strongly towards BB who was the big winner on the night – congratulations BB.

It was another excellent BRC meeting held in good spirit.

Regards
Sniper

Notes From TC Jagger

Dear BRC Members
Gentlemen the updated BRC competition table is now available, however before outlining positions I would like to endorse the comments of Sniper, as usual a very rowdy and entertaining evening, well hosted by Dam It!! and Mrs Dam It!!.
I am booked out on the 29/11, only free on the 13/12.
I also believe that before we try any new inventive or innovative games the members should try the games at home to ensure all the kinks have been ironed out. The most inventive and most successful game has to go to “the scrum” by Sniper.  Well done. I need to work on my diamond game. Visually it was not working, so back to the drawing board for me.
For  information the BRC treasury has $192 in the kitty.

The results for the evening:
1) First Big Bluff which pushed him up a position from 7th to 6th, with developer dropping a spot from 6th to 7th.

2) Second, the Punter, moved him into a clear 2nd position 5 points ahead of  3rd and only 2 points for the pole
position.

3) Third, Sniper moved up to equal 3rd, only 2points ahead of 5th position.

Hence as a result of the evening and after 5 games for 2013 and with only 1 game left for the year.
1) First - TC Jagger, on 39 points, 2 points clear, despite the attempts of the members to use the TCJ strategy to overcome TC Jagger’s lead.
2) 2nd - Punter, on 37 Points
3) Equal 3rd - Sniper and Dam It!! on 32 points.
4) 5th- The Banker on 30 points.
5) 6th - Big Bluff on 29 points.

Well it is any one’s game with anyone of the first 3 places can win the BRC Championship for 2013 and any of the top 6 players can achieve a placing.

 Best Regards,
TC Jagger
