Gents,
Thanks to those that attended BRCXXVIV at the Lugarno Palace and the pre game BBQ and football game. Apologies from Developer were accepted given the painful circumstances of having to pass a kidney stone. As usual it was a good night with some high lights as follows:
· Game started at 9.30pm. A sombre start to the game thanks to a tough loss by Saints by 1 point
· All members, except for Developer, were in attendance
· Jagger suggested that a Poker leader ladder competition be implemented. Jagger agreed to develop a ladder system for consideration starting from first game in 2009 –BRC XXVIII
· Popular games were variations of Texas and Manila
· Luck seemed to drift to one side of the table as usual
· Some spirited betting saw several capped hands leading to some large pots
· Maverick stunned all, including himself, and stole a pot at $55,000 in chips
· Maverick managed to bluff out BigBluff and Punter with a carefully timed raise at the end of one hand, winning on a nothing hand and leaving both BigBluff and The Punter stunned and speechless
· A call on speaker phone to Developer requesting him to either attend the game, since he was on his way back from the hospital, or to send over his contribution was met by disapproving noises heard from his wife Sonia as she was driving. Needless to say Developer did not come or send his $10, just his “best wishes”
· Coffee and cake at 11pm as per the Constitution
· Banker, Professor and Dam It!! left early in defeat
· Some spirited betting rounds saw the last hands just before 2am
· Overall winner – Sniper - came from out of the woods and swooped to a clear victory. 2nd place to Maverick then Jagger
· Biggest loser records are intact and clearly record The Rok as the Biggest Loser!!!!!!!
· Game finished at 2am
